Purpose of the NCF Deacons
The NCF Diaconal Ministry is committed to help meet physical needs in our congregation so elders are free to minister to our spiritual needs. (Acts 6:1-4) We are here to help families with both emergency and ongoing needs using Biblical guidelines, and encouraging families through accountability.
Offered Assistance Includes
- Basic physical needs of food, clothing, housing, utilities, or medical help
- Budget planning
- Coordination of support families for supplying meals, child care, cleaning, etc. if helpful for a period of time.
Deacon Training and Selection
All of God's people are called to service and helps, but some people are especially burdened and willing to serve in a deacon capacity. Deacons arrive at their position through nomination. This nomination usually takes place as the need for more deacons arises, and when a person's gifting becomes evident to other congregational members. The training period consists of attendance at monthly deacon meetings, and taking Sonship, team ministry, and Westminster Confession of Faith classes.
The NCF Deacon Committee maintains contact with other church ministries to coordinate resources and meet needs of families they are involved with.
The Deacons of NCF are committed to ongoing training of believers to help with the physical needs in our congregation . We have several members who would benefit from ongoing help such as house and car maintenance, lawn care, child care, financial bookkeeping, and general encouragement and freedom to use their spiritual gifts in the body.
When money is available there is a fund to help families who are aiding immigrants in their adjustment to the United States. (Food expenses, clothing, etc.) Contact the number below if there are questions.
